Online Trainings of Trainers on Fundamental Rights

Within the scope of The European Union - Council of Europe Joint Project on Strengthening the Capacity of Bar Associations and Lawyers on European Human Rights Standards, online training of trainers (ToT) on The Right to a Fair Trial, Prohibition of Ill Treatment and The Right to Liberty and Security were completed through a videoconferencing platform.

.

After the completion of online adaptation of cascade trainings on these three topics, the lawyer-trainers of the Project were trained on 4-5-6 December 2020 on general eLearning methodology to be able to provide online trainings to their colleagues. Right after the online eLearning trainings, online ToTs specific for each cascade training developed under the Project - namely The Right to a Fair Trial, Prohibition of Ill Treatment and The Right to Liberty and Security - started on 15 December 2020. Approximately 80 trainers were trained on how to provide online trainings on each topic until 23 December 2020, to enhance the related capacity of the trainers prominently.

These three 1-day trainings were converted to online platform to adapt to the conditions faced due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Under the Project, it is aimed to train around 2000 lawyers online across Turkey on Fundamental Rights through the trained cascade trainers.
