Eighth Coordination Meeting Held Online with Pilot Bars

The Joint Project on Strengthening the Capacity of Bar Associations and Lawyers on European Human Rights Standards (SCoBAL) organized its eighth Coordination Meeting online for the pilot Bar Associations on 29 April 2022.

The representatives of the pilot Bar Associations, the Union of Turkish Bar Association (UTBA), the Council of Europe (CoE) and the project team attended the meeting.

Following the opening speech of Sibel Suiçmez (UTBA Vice President), the project team briefly provided information on the achievements and upcoming activities of the Project. The meeting focused on the importance of the utilisation of the IT tool (IHMnet) developed by the Project in cooperation with UTBA and the pilot Bar Associations. Participants had exchanges on the user experiences and recommendations for its improvement.

EU-CoE Joint Project on “Strengthening the Capacity of Bar Associations and Lawyers on European Human Rights Standards (SCoBAL)” is implemented by the Council of Europe, and co-funded by the European Union, the Republic of Turkey and the Council of Europe. The Union of Turkish Bar Associations is the end beneficiary of the Project. The Central Finance and Contracting Unit is the contracting authority.
